SIA Media Statement Regarding the Appointment of Anna Gomez to Lead Us Preparations for World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-2023)

“SIA congratulates Anna Gomez and applauds the State Department announcement that she will lead U.S. preparations for this fall’s WRC-23,” said Tom Stroup, president of the Satellite Industry Association.  “Ms. Gomez’s distinguished career, in both private industry and as a public servant, provides her with a broad perspective needed to lead and represent America’s global telecommunications, satellite and spectrum interests.  With the commercial satellite industry currently growing at an unprecedented rate, it is vital that global policy decisions be made that will ensure commercial industry growth and innovation, while bridging the digital divide and maintaining America’s continued leadership in the global commercial space industry.”

“As former Deputy Chief of the FCC’s International Bureau and Deputy Administrator of the NTIA, Ms. Gomez has the wealth of leadership and policy expertise regarding global telecommunications and satellite spectrum which makes her the ideal choice to lead the U.S. delegation in preparation for this year’s WRC-23,” said Jennifer Warren, Executive Committee Chair of the Satellite Industry Association.
