Washington, D.C., November 11, 2021 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced that the Genus Group, a communications and satellite systems consulting firm has joined SIA as the Association’s newest Affiliate Member.  Headquartered in Potomac, MD, the Genus Group specializes in providing communications consulting services to the U.S. Federal Government and its industry partners.

“On behalf of SIA and its members, I would like to welcome the Genus Group as the newest member of the Association,” said Tom Stroup, president of the Satellite Industry Association.  “As the commercial satellite industry continues to grow at an unprecedented level with increased utility and reduced costs, so too are the numbers of government agencies looking to commercial providers to meet their global communications, remote sensing and launch requirements.  The Genus Group’s expertise in government commercial space industry consulting make them an ideal addition to SIA and we look forward to working with them as our newest member.”

“SIA has always been the leading light for the satellite industry and an important voice of advocacy for the community.  The Genus Group is proud to join SIA so that it can share the value of its membership with its clients,” said Mark Jasen, President and Managing Partner for the Genus Group.

Affiliate membership in SIA is open to satellite companies as well as supporting entities that advocate and promote the domestic commercial satellite industry.  SIA Affiliate Members receive a number of benefits including attendance at SIA’s Annual Association Meeting, participation in all open SIA meetings and most events (excluding the SIA Leadership Dinner) and SIA Member discounts to industry events.  For further details regarding membership in SIA, please see the following link:  https://sia.org/membership/membership-applications/.
