Satellite Industry Association Congratulates Alan Davidson for Being Confirmed by the Senate as NTIA Administrator

Washington, D.C., January 11, 2021 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today applauded the U.S Senate for confirming Alan Davidson as Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information, at the National Telecommunications and Information Association (NTIA), Department of Commerce.  The Assistant Secretary serves as NTIA Administrator and is also the U.S. President’s principal adviser on telecommunications and information policy.  Mr. Davidson was nominated to head up the NTIA by President Biden in late October.

“SIA is pleased to congratulate Alan Davidson on being confirmed by the Senate as the new NTIA Administrator,” said Tom Stroup, President of SIA.  “His decades of internet policy and cybersecurity experience as both an executive in the private sector and public servant make him an ideal head of the NTIA.  As a former Director of Digital Economy at Commerce, he also has a broad understanding of the importance of bridging the digital divide with global connectivity and spectrum management, both of which are crucial to the commercial satellite industry.  SIA applauds the U.S. Senate on Mr. Davidson’s confirmation.
