Law Firm Akin Joins the Satellite Industry Association

Washington, D.C., December 11, 2023 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced that law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld LLP (Akin) is the newest affiliate member of SIA. Akin was established in 1945 and its largest office is located in Washington, DC.

In late September, the Firm announced that it was making a critical investment in its capacity to continue to serve the rapidly expanding and diversifying commercial space industry by appointing Dr. Michael Mineiro to Akin’s telecom, media and technology (TMT) practice as a senior counsel. With both U.S. Government and commercial satellite industry experience, Dr. Mineiro will advise launch companies, satellite operators, space-based service providers and other technology-focused investors to address wide-ranging regulatory and compliance issues.
