SpaceLink Joins The Satellite Industry Association

Washington, D.C., July 13, 2021 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today announced that SpaceLink has joined as its newest member.  Headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia near Washington, DC., SpaceLink also has offices in Silicon Valley, California.  The Company is building a space relay network with interlinked medium-earth-orbit (MEO) satellites to provide continuous, real time communications between customers’ low-earth-orbit (LEO) spacecraft and the ground.

Because of its unique architecture and planned location in MEO, the SpaceLink satellite constellation will have direct line of site to spacecraft in LEO including satellites, space stations, tugs and servicers, as well as to its dedicated Gateway Earth Stations.  As a result, the SpaceLink service will be able to provide a continuous real-time flow of data to and from client spacecraft, its secure gateways, and on to end users through secure terrestrial and cloud networks.

“SIA is pleased to welcome SpaceLink as our newest satellite industry member,” said Tom Stroup, president of SIA.  “SIA and its members look forward to learning more about accessing real-time continuous MEO satellite connectivity for spacecraft in low-earth-orbit and to working with the SpaceLink team.”

“SpaceLink is honored to join SIA, and support its advocacy for the U.S. satellite industry,” said Tony Colucci, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer at SpaceLink. “We’re building the communications superhighway for the new space economy to help spacecraft operators maximize the value of their assets with better and faster connectivity to the ground. We look forward to contributing our voice in support of the entire satellite ecosystem.”
