Satellite Industry Association Applauds Appointment of Jay Schwarz as New Chief of the FCC Space Bureau
Washington, D.C., February 5, 2025 – The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) today congratulated Jay Schwarz following his appointment as Chief of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Space Bureau by Commission Chairman Brendan Carr. The FCC Space Bureau plays a key role in advancing the Commission’s Space Innovation Agenda. It promotes a competitive and innovative global communications marketplace by leading policy and licensing matters related to satellite and space-based communications and activities.
Mr. Schwarz was Wireline Advisor to former FCC Chairman Ajit Pai Jay and held positions in the Wireline Competition Bureau, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, and the Office of Strategic Planning. Most recently he was Vice President – Global Public Policy at Comcast NBCUniversal where he focused on broadband policy.
