PUBLIC SAFETY AND DISASTER RELIEF
Satellite communications are a critical tool for public safety agencies and first responders across the United States in times of emergency, providing essential voice, data and media connectivity, as well as backhaul capacity and network restoration for terrestrial wireless and wireline companies in the event of a disaster. SIA works to inform policy makers of the criticality of satellite services and educate emergency workers on how to incorporate satellite-delivered services into their emergency communications preparations.
