State of the Satellite Industry Report

Every year SIA and Futron Corporation have conducted a leading analysis of the satellite industry's economic performance. The 2009 SIA State of the Satellite Industry Report shows global growth of 19 percent for the industry overall. Satellite services and ground equipment led this expansion, posting a 16 percent and 34 percent growth over 2008 respectively. This survey provides a retrospective look at the industry's strong 2008 performance, and frames the need for policy decisions that can affect the industry's future growth such as export controls, broadband stimulus and U.S. government communications requirements
